The Bondys | Ann Arbor, MI Wedding

Guys…..2018 wedding weather was not great for me! It started out with a January wedding with subzero temps, sweltering outdoor tent weddings, and lots and LOTS of rain! My brides and grooms have endured it all this year, but each and every day though turned out absolutely perfect, even if it didn’t go 100% to plan. The Bondy’s wedding day was no different. Anne was a planner. She was one step ahead of me on timelines, and details and wanted everything according to a list and plan! This TOTALLY works for me. I create a timeline with each and every one of my brides to ensure that they day goes smoothly, and everyone knows when and where to be. I even keep the timeline on my apple watch for reference throughout the day so that the bride and groom can soak up every moment of the day. Leave the worrying to me, I got this! A rainy wedding day may have threw Anne’s plans for a loop, but made for some beautiful photos!

I started the day with the guys at the beautiful St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church. At that point it was just misting a bit, so we headed out back to get some photos with the beautiful fall colors. Afterwards I checked on the ladies and to shoot some images of the the pretty little details. When it was time for her bridal portraits, it of course was raining. Luckily, the church had these gorgeous giant wood doors at the entrance of the chapel as well as some outdoor overhangs, so Anne’s dress and hair didn’t get wet before the wedding.

The ceremony went without a hitch, as did our family portraits…which we got done ahead of schedule! With the rain still hovering over, and limited locations for full bridal party photos, Anne and Blake almost didn’t make the trek out to Mill Pond Park. We knew it was going to be muddy and soggy, buy hey she was wearing cowboy boots, we all had clear umbrellas, and agreed that if they didn’t take the time to do these portraits, than they would regret it…..so we did it! It was so much fun! Seriously, don’t let a little rain stop you! The newly weds danced, laughed, kissed, and enjoyed their first few moments together as husband and wife. I somehow juggled my camera, and an umbrella that kept smacking me in the face! We were all laughing and having a good time, so a couple of soggy shoes and an umbrella wound or two were worth it ;)

The reception was held at the UA local 190 Banquet Hall and was adorned with the Bondy’s fishing themed decor. Super cute and unique, right? Decor that truly showed who they where and what they loved doing together! The dinner, speeches, and dancing were enjoyed by all, but the best part…..at dusk the rain stopped! We even got a few couple photos without the umbrellas! Ha! Congrats Bondys and thank you so much for trusting me for your day!
